Types of Craniosynostosis

Craniosynostosis: Premature closure of 1 or more sutures in the skull.

Billy has sagittal craniosynostosis (named as it is the sagittal line that has fused) This is the most common form of craniosynostosis and is more often seen in boys although the condition itself is rare. Most cases of craniosynostosis (like Billy’s) are non-syndromatic, but in some cases it is found as part of a wider syndrome.
